| Milan Žust was born in 1967 in Ljubljana, Slovenia, and spent his childhood and teenage years in a small town, Hleviše. In 1986, after completing secondary school, he joined the Society of Jesus. He studied Philosophy and Theology in Ljubljana and Innsbruck. He was ordained a priest in 1996. In 1997 he got a Licence from Rome’s Pontifical Oriental Institute. In 2002 he completed his Doctorate in Theology at Paris’ Catholic Institute, the Institute of Orthodox Theology and La Sorbonne University, writing his doctoral thesis on Pavel Florensky. He has been teaching at the Faculty of Missiology, Pontifical Gregorian University, Rome, since 2003. In 2006 he started working for the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity, dealing in particular with the relations between the Roman Catholic Church and the Orthodox Churches of Slav countries, as well as of Georgia, and being in charge of the grants to Orthodox students. |
